Twenty Eight Parrot ( Barnardius zonarius)

Well now where does one start??
Twenty eight parrots aren't regular visitors to our garden but when the cones are ready on my pine tree they arrive.
They are ever so quite and the first knowledge of their existence is the discrete flutter of wings when they are disturbed.
This little chap kept popping his head up to check that I hadn't moved

A view of the beautiful feathers of the Twenty Eight Parrot
For the last few weeks we have had three 28"s visiting our garden Mother  Father and an almost fully grown youngster during that time they had almost devoured ever nut on our pine tree.  It was so laden with little cones that the branches were bowing under the weight and in places touching the ground.

This young Twenty eight looks rather untidy.
